Our Family Page
We have been married 33 years, and have 3 grown, married children that we are very proud of.
We also have 7 wonderful grandchildren.
Rick, Karen, Kayla, Andre Lindsey, Joey & Ashle Jennifer, Jeff, Hannah & Ben
& Abigail
"Papa and grandson Andrew"
Rick is 55 years old. He was born in Oregon and lived there until he joined the Air Force in 1968. The 6 1/2 year Air Force “tour” took him (and eventually Sharon) to Mississippi, California, Vietnam, Oklahoma and back to California. Rick went to work for the Federal Aviation Administration as an Air Traffic Controller in 1974. He spent 30 years in the FAA in various controller, staff specialist, supervisory and management positions, retiring on January 3, 2004. His hobbies are primarily woodworking, golf and, of course, cycling. Greatest accomplishments: 33 years of marriage and a great family who are all successful and actually choose to live close! (Thought he was going to say cycling across the USA huh? Must admit….that’s right up there near the top).
"Sharon's Retirement" "The Browns Valley Gang"
Sharon is younger than Rick (that’s all you need to know). She was born in California and after marrying Rick in 1971 traveled with him to all those places he mentioned. Although she had a number of jobs over the years she spent the majority of her time focused on the children. After the kids were grown Sharon decided to live life dangerously and became a school bus driver. Sharon drove as a substitute for a short period and then became full time for a total of about 7 years. Her hobbies are cycling and golf. Greatest accomplishments: The same as Rick’s…. raising a wonderful family together, many happy years of marriage and being close to all 7 grandchildren (who are going to be very, very difficult to leave for the whole summer). Of course, riding the TransAmerica trail will be huge!!
"I am dedicating this ride to my mother who had breast cancer 2 1/2 years ago. If you would like more information about the National Breast Cancer Foundation or would like to make a donation to the foundation, please click the NBCF link or the logo below."
