Spanish 1 Grades 9-12
This is an introductory course to the Spanish language. Students will develop interest and knowledge in speaking, listening, reading, and writing. An introductory study is made of the life, customs, and history of Spanish speaking people.
Punjabi 1 & 2 Grades 9-12
This course provides an introduction to the basic skills of listening, understanding, speaking, reading, and writing the Punjabi Language. While spelling, vocabulary development, grammar, and syntax are studied, the emphasis is on oral speaking and a practical vocabulary for everyday situations. An introductory study is made of the life, customs, and history of Punjabi speaking people.
ADVANCED FOREIGN LANGUAGE CLASSES
All Advanced level classes require passing the introductory course or the instructor’s approval before entering. College bound students are encouraged to take advanced level language classes. See your counselor for more information.
Spanish 2 Grades 10-12
This Course has more advanced study of the Spanish language. Emphasis is placed on expanding the four language skills. There is continued study of culture and history. Classroom work is conducted in Spanish as much as possible.
Spanish 3 Grades 11 & 12
This class reviews grammar from Spanish 1 and 2. The text, Multivista Cultural, presents a wide range of reading to develop vocabulary and understanding. Oral as well as written communication is emphasized.
Spanish 4 Grade 12
Students expand their vocabulary to a pre-college level. Several simplified
versions of Spanish Classes are read in this course. In addition, students
may be used as peer tutors for students in the ESL classes. There may even
be a cross-age tutoring component (high school students teaching elementary
students) for some students who are qualified.
