Congregate Meals Programs
Food and Fun In the Twin Cities!
Seniors can find a good meal every weekday, plus
activities and conversation, in nearby senior centers. Don't
sit home alone. Come meet your fellow seniors and share your
interests.
Hot nutritious meals are offered at 11:45 a.m.,
Monday-Friday to any senior over 60 years of age at the
following locations in Yuba and Sutter Counties. Suggested
donation, $2 for Seniors. Meals are $5.00 for anyone under
60. Reservations recommended. Check with individual site
managers at each location to determine daily activities.
Yuba City

Activities may include bingo, entertainment, dancing,
films,community speakers, etc.
Live Oak

Activities according to wishes of the group. This site
offers van transportation to and from the site. Reservations
are especially important at this location since meals are
prepared in Yuba City and delivered by van at meal times.

Activities include card games and visiting. The building,
which is owned by Senior Citizens Group, houses various
activities besides the nutrition site. Senior Gleaner's
Giveaway day is 4th Tuesday of the month. Contact Nola for
activity schedule.

Home Delivered meals are available to eligible homebound
seniors over 60 years of age, residing in Sutter or Yuba
County. Service area for delivery varies with each location
in Yuba and Sutter Counties.. Applications are made through
self referral, doctors, agencies or family and friends of
the senior. Delivery is for 5 days per week, Monday -
Friday. Donations of $2 help expand the program but no
service is denied if the senior is unable to make a
donation.
Both programs are funded by Federal Funds, Sutter County
Community Block Grant funds, community donations and
donations from the seniors for the meals.

Services Provided:
Individual nutritional counseling services under
physician's referral. Available for nutrition presentations
to groups. Accepts calls from individuals for general
nutrition information. Specializes in Diabetes and Heart
Disease nutritional counseling. Leads periodic group classes
on various nutritional topics.
Eligibility Requirements: No requirement other than
physician referral for individual counseling services.
Fees or Charges: $40 for initial individual consultation.
No charge for phone advice. Small fee for group classes.
